As Bild newspaper reports, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, CEO of FC Bayern Munich, has declared a player of the record champions absolutely unsellable. Accordingly, there is said to have been an offer of €200 million for the star, which the Bayern officials categorically rejected. Rummenigge himself is said to have made clear that this player will not be given up under any circumstances.
Bild quotes Rummenigge as saying: "This player is unsellable. Period." With this, the Bayern boss counters any speculation about a possible transfer. The paper further reports that the €200 million offer is said to have come from an unnamed foreign club. The offer was not officially confirmed by FC Bayern.
Other media also take up the topic. T-Online reports, citing circles at FC Bayern, that the player is Michael Olise. The 22-year-old Frenchman only moved from Crystal Palace to Munich in summer 2024 and has quickly established himself as a key performer. According to T-Online, an "unwritten law" has been in place at Bayern since 2009, according to which certain players are not sold – a decision made at the time by Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. This law also influences the current stance on Olise.
SPOX.com reports that Rummenigge has provided clarity with a "tough Olise announcement." The Bayern boss is said to have emphasized that Olise is "the best player in the world" and will therefore stay at FC Bayern. SPORT1, in turn, reports that the star is "the best player in the world" and that he will definitely not move.
Rummenigge's statements come at a time when FC Bayern is fighting for titles in the Bundesliga and Champions League. Olise, known for his dribbling skills and goal threat, has already scored several decisive goals this season. His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt.de at around €80 million, but Bayern apparently sees him as an indispensable part of the squad.
Bild speculates that the alleged €200 million offer could have come from a top English club that knows Olise from his time in the Premier League. However, FC Bayern showed no interest in negotiations. Rummenigge is said to have made clear internally that Olise should become the face of the club in the long term.
Reactions from the fan base are mixed: While many welcome the clear stance of the bosses, others wonder whether one should at least negotiate given such an offer. The Bayern officials apparently see it differently. Rummenigge is quoted as saying: "You can't buy every player with money. Some are simply unsellable."
Whether the €200 million offer actually existed remains unconfirmed. What is certain, however, is that FC Bayern is planning with Michael Olise.
