A fire has broken out in a forested area in the district of Bad Kreuznach, Rhineland-Palatinate. The affected area covers more than three hectares. The site contains World War II munition, which is complicating firefighting operations.
According to ZDF reporter Luisa Houben, explosions have already occurred. A fire department spokesperson said it could take hours or days for the area to burn out. Due to the munition hazard, emergency crews must proceed with extreme caution.
