As the Kyiv Post reports, Georgia’s parliament speaker accused the EU of demanding that Tbilisi join sanctions against Russia to preserve visa-free travel with the bloc. He called such a step ‘suicide’ for the country.
The remarks come amid growing tensions between Tbilisi and Brussels. The EU has prepared a mechanism allowing it to suspend visa-free privileges for Georgia, citing concerns over democratic backsliding in the South Caucasus state.
