Helene Fischer performed two concerts at Hamburg's Volksparkstadion over the weekend, thrilling more than 50,000 fans with a two-and-a-half-hour pop-schlager party.

The 41-year-old singer performed her greatest hits on a 360-degree stage that allowed her to be in the midst of the audience. “I just really wanted to celebrate my anniversary, to say a big thank you to my fans, and to be right in the middle of it,” Fischer said. The show lasted two and a half hours and was part of her stadium tour marking her 20th stage anniversary.

At the end of April, the singer had described her anticipation for the concerts in the Hamburg Journal: “I’m burning inside. I’m incredibly happy to finally pursue my passion as a singer again, to dance, and to let loose on stage.” Fans were thrilled, praising especially her vocal performance and down-to-earth nature.

Helene Fischer is one of the most successful German artists of recent decades. For her anniversary, she received her own postage stamp, following in the footsteps of stars like the Scorpions, Udo Lindenberg, and David Bowie.
