Helene Fischer in Frankfurt: Heat Delays Entry, Water Nearly Banned

With temperatures reaching up to 36 degrees Celsius, Helene Fischer is performing concerts at Frankfurt's Deutsche Bank Park on Friday and Saturday. The organizer has postponed entry by 90 minutes due to the heat.

The concert organizer postponed entry to the stadium from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to avoid long waits in the sun. The concerts start at 7:30 p.m. each day. The stadium roof will remain closed to provide as much shade as possible, a spokesperson announced.

Bringing water into the stadium is nearly impossible: only unopened Tetra Paks of non-alcoholic drinks up to 0.25 liters are allowed, and large bags are not. Security staff will provide free water Tetra Paks at the entrances and inside the stadium. Visitors may also bring mini fans or hand fans, as long as they are not made of metal and have no sharp edges.

The organizer appeals to personal responsibility: recommended items include headgear, sunscreen, and not attending the concert on an empty stomach. The number of paramedics has been increased. In 2015, Fischer’s “Atemlos” tour in Berlin faced similar heat conditions – at that time, water prices were lowered and sprinkler systems were set up.
