An agreement to end the Iran war between the US and Iran is moving closer, after US Donald Trump expressed hopes for a breakthrough. The documents could possibly be signed in Europe as early as this weekend.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghtschi confirmed that the agreement is nearing completion. He warned, however, that the media should refrain from speculating about the content until the details are officially announced.

Such a framework agreement could cover key issues such as Iran’s nuclear program, shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, and the lifting of sanctions. A senior US official said the deal could also include the release of frozen Iranian assets abroad, but only under certain conditions.
