The event was organized by the Be-Japon organization and supported by the Japanese Embassy and the City of Brussels. The play ‘Amaterasu’ is based on Japanese mythology and tells the story of Amaterasu, a central figure in Shinto belief.
The performance took place in the historic Brussels City Hall, one of Europe’s most magnificent Gothic buildings. It was part of a series of cultural events marking the anniversary of bilateral relations, which began with a friendship treaty in 1866.
