The decision was made at a meeting on sanctions issues chaired by Bakyt Sidikov, the special representative of Kyrgyzstan’s president for special tasks. Since the end of June, about 40 companies with an increased sanctions risk have been identified in the republic.

The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan announced enhanced oversight of banks, payment services, and other services. Eldik Bank has terminated business relations with 109 companies since July. About 20 more companies are in the process of having their accounts closed. The bank continues to monitor customer payments to detect and block transactions related to sanctions evasion.

Abank has terminated business relations with about 35 companies. About 40 more companies are currently under review. In May, 50 Kyrgyz companies suspected of helping Russia circumvent Western sanctions over its invasion of Ukraine were forced to cease operations.
