Madonna has said in a conversation with Interview magazine that she will keep her clothes on in the future. The reason: nudity has become commonplace today. ‘I no longer want to show myself naked because everyone shows themselves naked today,’ the 67-year-old singer said. She wants to stand out from the crowd by doing what others don’t — namely, thinking and staying dressed.
The days of revealing stage outfits and bathtub photo shoots are over. Madonna, who rose to fame with hits like ‘Like a Virgin’ and ‘Vogue,’ is now using coverage as a stylistic device. The Grammy winner emphasized that she is deliberately doing the opposite of what the mainstream does.
Alongside her decision on the clothing issue, Madonna also spoke about a failed film project. A planned documentary about her life will not happen, she said. The reason is a dispute with Universal Pictures over production costs. ‘I’ve had an extraordinary, big life. That’s why I needed a big budget,’ the pop icon explained.
Fans won’t have to go without insights into her life entirely, however. As the industry publication Variety reports, Madonna is working with Netflix on an autobiographical series. Details on the scope or start date are not yet known.
