Major police operation in Munich: Armed robbers attack jeweler in train station district

Late Wednesday afternoon, police launched a major operation after an armed robbery on a jeweler in Munich's Goethestrasse. According to the Abendzeitung Munich, the perpetrators are on the run.

The crime occurred around 4:50 p.m. at a jewelry store at Goethestrasse 66. The shop is located in a courtyard and has no display window; it only offers jewelry on order. Police cordoned off the area extensively.

According to police, at least two armed perpetrators were involved in the robbery. They fled in an unknown direction. Around 40 patrol cars and a police helicopter are deployed to catch the suspects in the city area.

According to initial findings, the robbery caused damage in the six-figure range. The four people present were not injured. Police expect further details in the course of the evening.
