On May 15 at around 2:35 PM, an armed assault on police officers occurred in the village of Terliwka, in the Chmelnytskyi district, during a document check. The assailant, who had been stopped for driving without a license, opened fire, killing one police officer and injuring another.

According to Ukrainska Pravda, the suspect fled the scene after the incident. The police have launched a special operation in the Chmelnytskyi district to apprehend the suspect. Investigators and criminal officers are on-site to clarify the circumstances and motives of the crime.

In a similar incident in January, four police officers were killed in the Oblast when a wanted suspect opened fire during his arrest. These repeated attacks on police raise concerns about the safety of officers.
