Actress Mechthild Großmann, known as the prosecutor from the Münster 'Tatort', read texts about dance, intoxication, and ecstasy on Saturday at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, accompanied by pianist Gottlieb Wallisch.

The reading took place at the Mestlin community center. Wallisch played foxtrots, tangos, and charlestons from the 1920s — music he has released in his own CD series ’20th Century Foxtrots’. The seventh and most recent CD in the series was released in early 2026.

Großmann, who worked for decades in Pina Bausch’s company, had selected texts by Erich Kästner, Bertolt Brecht, Else Lasker-Schüler, and Kurt Tucholsky. The program premiered in 2025 at the Brucknerhaus Linz and now came to northern Germany for the first time. The MV Festival offers a total of 120 concerts at 90 venues.
