If you want something lined up for your children during Bavaria’s autumn holidays (Monday 2 to Friday 6 November 2026), buy the Munich Ferienpass now – and online only. Since 5 October the city has sold it “exclusively digitally”. The paper card of earlier years is gone.
What does it cost, and who can use it?
The Ferienpass 2026/27 is for children and teenagers aged 6 to 17, including those who do not live in Munich. It costs €14 for ages 6 to 14 and €10 for ages 15 to 17. It is valid from the first day of the autumn holidays until the last day of the 2027 summer holidays, so across all Bavarian school breaks. Weekends and public holidays are generally excluded, and individual offers list their own exceptions.
According to the city, it includes five free entries to the M-Hallenbäder indoor pools and one free entry to Hellabrunn Zoo, plus vouchers and discounts from partner businesses redeemed by QR code or discount code. Free outdoor-pool entry (Whitsun and summer) and free MVV travel in the summer holidays only matter later – and the transport benefit applies to children up to 14.
How to get the digital pass
Purchase, event registration and use all run through the booking portal ferien-familien.muenchen.de. The pass can be shown on a smartphone or printed. Anyone who cannot pay online can buy vouchers for online ordering at the Stadtinformation in the Rathaus or the Stadtjugendamt’s Infothek in the Elisenhof. Events are booked first come, first served; bookings are binding but can be cancelled in the portal, so release your place if your child cannot go.
Low-income families can still get free passes through SZ Gute Werke distribution points; the Sozialbürgerhäuser have details. Questions go to ferienpass.soz@muenchen.de or 089 233-733822. The pass is not an ID – teenagers aged 16 and over should carry their Personalausweis.
A caveat for planning: the city’s overview pages list no specific autumn-holiday events, and the holiday calendar on muenchen.de recently showed “0 events”. Offers are in the portal and the Infoheft. Hellabrunn Zoo is open daily 9am to 5pm, according to muenchen.de, and Legoland Deutschland in Günzburg until 8 November inclusive. Our assessment: because the pass runs until summer 2027, it pays for itself after a zoo trip and a few swimming sessions.
Buying now leaves time to book before the break. Popular events may fill up close to 2 November, though the city does not publish figures on that.
