A 49-year-old man fell onto the tracks at Munich's Kolumbusplatz U-Bahn station and later died from his injuries. Bystanders had managed to rescue him from an incoming train, police said.

The accident occurred on Wednesday, May 20, at Munich’s Kolumbusplatz U-Bahn station. According to police, the man fell onto the track bed without external influence and sustained serious injuries. Bystanders managed to rescue him from the danger zone just before a train arrived.

Emergency services took the injured man to a hospital, where he died on Saturday from the effects of severe traumatic brain injury. Police stated that the Munich resident had apparently consumed alcohol prior to the incident. The traffic police have taken over the investigation.
