Peter Magyar was sworn in as Hungary's new Prime Minister on Monday. The 43-year-old won last month's parliamentary election in a landslide victory with his party Tisza, as reported by Deutsche Welle.
Magyar thus replaces Viktor Orban, who had governed the country for 16 years. Orban's party Fidesz suffered a significant defeat in the election.
According to the news agency TASS, Magyar officially took over the government duties. The swearing-in ceremony took place in the Hungarian Parliament in Budapest.
