According to Tagesspiegel, US Donald Trump watched a martial arts spectacle by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) directly in front of the White House on his 80th birthday. More than 4,000 spectators attended the cage fights, including cabinet members, Trump’s family, and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Over 120,000 additional onlookers were expected at a fan festival in the adjacent Ellipse Park.
Singer Sheryl Crow criticized the event in strong terms. She called the spectacle shameful and condemned holding mixed martial arts fights in front of the president’s official residence. Trump is known as a fan of this often bloody combat sport, which combines techniques from boxing, wrestling, kickboxing, karate, and jiu-jitsu.
Crow’s criticism is part of a series of clashes between artists and the Trump administration. EuroPulse reported on June 12, 2026, that Ariana Grande banned the Trump administration from using her song (https://europulse.today/ariana-grande-verbietet-trump-regierung-nutzung-ihres-songs/).
