The Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival (SHMF) kicks off its 2026 season on July 4. This year’s program focuses on Stockholm, with 200 concerts planned at more than 70 venues across Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg.

The opening concert takes place at the Music and Congress Hall in Lübeck. Cellist Anastasia Kobekina and the Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, conducted by Karina Canellakis, will perform Antonín Dvořák’s Cello Concerto in B minor and Gustav Mahler’s First Symphony. Sunday’s concert will be available via livestream.

The program ranges from classical to pop: alongside works by Swedish composer Wilhelm Stenhammar, the pop duo Roxette and Nils Landgren will also perform. Roxette appears on July 18 in Kiel. The festival’s portrait artist is Latvian accordionist Ksenija Sidorova, who will play 18 concerts.

SHMF Artistic Director Christian Kuhnt said the festival aims to embark on a journey of discovery with its audience. The festival runs until August 30.
