The pop musical “Six” tells the story of the six wives of King Henry VIII as a royal girl group show. It is now on view for the first time at the Alte Oper Frankfurt, as FAZ reports.
The piece originated in 2017 during the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh. Cambridge students Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss wrote it in just ten days. What started as a student production became a worldwide phenomenon, running in London’s West End and on Broadway.
The costumes by Gabriella Slade and the stage design by Emma Bailey combine Tudor times with modern casting show aesthetics. The musical has won numerous awards and sparked viral trends on TikTok and YouTube.
