Such exaggerations are nothing new for him – he had already celebrated the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip last year as “peace for all time,” even though reality fell far short of the words. In risky diplomatic agreements, success often depends on the details – and that is precisely what is lacking this time.
US Vice President J.D. Vance said on Fox News on Sunday evening that the agreement was intended to prevent Iran from possessing nuclear weapons and that the US could verify compliance. However, key questions remain open – for example, regarding the limits of uranium enrichment and the handling of existing stocks of highly enriched uranium.
