US Donald Trump said an initial peace agreement with Iran could be signed as early as Sunday, as reported by Deutsche Welle. The agreement, referred to as a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), is intended to gradually enable the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran, however, expressed skepticism about Trump’s timeline and made clear that a deal is not imminent.

Parallel to the diplomatic efforts, Israel continues its airstrikes on targets in Lebanon. The Israeli military said it again bombed positions of the Hezbollah militia. An official statement from the Lebanese government on the latest attacks has not yet been released.
