In Tuesday’s Republican runoff in Texas, US President Donald Trump once again threw his support behind Attorney General Ken Paxton. “Texas, vote for Ken Paxton, our Attorney General!” Trump wrote on his platform. Paxton is challenging four-term Senator John Cornyn, who presents himself as a Trump ally.
The vote is seen as a test of Trump’s influence on the Republican Party. Trump had already campaigned for Paxton multiple times. Vice President JD Vance held a roundtable discussion on Tuesday with state attorneys general on anti-fraud initiatives. Attorneys general declined to participate, as the Washington Examiner reported. In a letter to Vance, about two dozen Democratic lawmakers said the invitation came with less than one business day’s notice and no agenda – which they said did not reflect a spirit of cooperation.
Meanwhile, Trump, the oldest US president ever sworn in, underwent his annual health checkup at Walter Reed Military Hospital on Tuesday. In a post, he said everything was “PERFECT.” The exam took place amid public questions about his health.
EuroPulse reported on May 24, 2026, that Trump expects a timely deal with Iran and a possible two-phase agreement (https://europulse.today/trump-erwartet-zeitnahe-einigung-mit-iran/).
