US Donald Trump said the US would attack Iran on Wednesday, as the Guardian reports. He accused Tehran’s peace negotiators of ‘playing us for suckers’ — just a day after he again claimed a peace deal was close.
The threat came hours after the two sides traded fire overnight. Neighbouring Gulf states were again drawn into a war that has consumed the region since late February.
Trump had previously stated repeatedly that a deal was near. The latest escalation, however, shows that the fronts remain hardened. The US and Iran have been exchanging fire for weeks, keeping the entire Middle East on edge.
EuroPulse reported on June 8, 2026, that Iran and Israel had temporarily halted their attacks and that Trump was pushing for de-escalation (europulse.today/iran-israel-angriffe-einstellung-trump-deeskalation).
