The Russian capital region came under one of the largest Ukrainian drone attacks yet overnight. According to Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on Telegram, air defenses destroyed 201 drones over the Moscow region, with most of the rest intercepted before reaching their targets.
The Ukrainian news site Kyiv Independent reported that the strikes hit, among other targets, industrial facilities and a warehouse of the online retailer Wildberries. Ukraine had previously attacked the company’s facilities in other Russian regions several times.
In parallel, Russia struck Ukraine again with ballistic missiles, glide bombs, and drones, according to Kyiv. Targets included the capital Kyiv and the industrial cities of Kremenchuk and Kryvyi Rih.
Ukraine has been defending itself against Russia’s war of aggression with Western support for more than four years. Kyiv relies primarily on drones for counterattacks on Russian territory.
