The port city of Sevastopol on Russia-annexed Crimea is again cut off from power after overnight Ukrainian drone attacks. Moscow-installed governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said the city was without electricity due to a massive Ukrainian strike, according to state news agency Tass. Experts were assessing the damage while the army repelled the attack.
In the Ukrainian attack on the Russian Black Sea naval base in Novorossiysk the previous night, four Russian warships were damaged to varying degrees, according to preliminary information from the Ukrainian General Staff in Kyiv: two frigates, the “Admiral Makarov” and “Admiral Essen”; a small missile ship of the “Buyan-M” class; and the patrol ship “Vasily Bykov.” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed Ukrainian strikes on Novorossiysk with drones, cruise missiles, and sea drones. “Confirmed hits on air defense positions, berths, and seaport infrastructure,” the head of state wrote on Telegram. The base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet is more than 300 kilometers from the front line. According to reports from both Russian and Telegram channels, the naval port, commercial port, and oil loading terminal in Novorossiysk were hit. Three people were killed in the city, including an eight-year-old child, said Krasnodar region governor Veniamin Kondratyev. At least 24 people were injured.
