Russian-installed authorities confirmed fires in Sevastopol. The governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, said drone debris had fallen in several districts and caused fires. Emergency crews were busy extinguishing the blazes.
The monitoring group Crimean Wind reported, according to Kyivpost, two active fires near Balaklava south of Sevastopol. One was spotted at a transport hub near the village of Pervomaiske, where a bridge crosses a railway line. Another fire was recorded at Vasili Beach. A third fire in the Inzhir tract had already been extinguished after an earlier incident.
A separate fire was detected at a Russian border military facility in the village of Rissowe in northern Crimea. The satellite image dates to about 2:31 a.m. local time, according to Crimean Wind. The cause of the fires could not be independently confirmed.
Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ unmanned systems, said Ukraine could strike up to seven times more Russian military targets on occupied Crimea if Western financial aid arrives as planned. Currently, he said, they are working with only 14 percent of the capacity needed for a full Crimea campaign.
