In his evening video address, Zelensky said: “For the first time in Russia’s history, the country no longer has a secure strategic rear. And for the first time, it cannot fight without reinforcements from North Korea. Now it is preparing to station an additional Korean contingent on its territory.” He stressed that Russia has received additional ballistic weapons from North Korea.
Zelensky warned that North Korea’s ballistic missiles and other weapons systems are being improved thanks to cooperation with Russia. The more North Korean strikes hit Ukraine and Europe, the greater the danger for Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Philippines, and other countries in the region. He called on all people worldwide who respect human life to take joint measures to protect people.
He emphasized the need for joint action, coordination, and mutual support, especially in air defense, to break North Korea’s interest in coming to Ukraine and learning combat there.
As reported, Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, said North Korea is interested in gaining combat experience in Russia’s war against Ukraine in order to later launch a phase of aggression on the Korean Peninsula.
