The on-rails shooter ‘Transformers: Beyond Reality’ launches on September 3 for Meta Quest. The game was previously exclusive to PlayStation VR. The ‘Redux’ version brings the title to the Meta platform after nearly four years.
Munich-based studio Salmi Games presented ‘Drifters: Blackout Crew,’ a cooperative extraction shooter for Meta Quest and SteamVR. Up to four players fight through alien temples, collect resources, and must return to the mothership in time. Studio founder Yacine Salmi told heise online that public funding from 2022 and 2023 enabled the early prototypes. After the expansion of games funding in spring 2025, additional funds flowed from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media. ‘Without this support, Drifters would either be a much smaller game or it wouldn’t exist at all,’ Salmi said.
The flight simulation ‘Korea’ from the IL-2 series receives a VR mode. The VR version launches on June 25 in Early Access, with the PC version following on August 4. All common VR headsets are supported via OpenXR and OpenVR.
