According to Deutschlandfunk, German Minister Johann Wadephul (CDU) said after a meeting with his Hungarian counterpart Anita Orbán in Berlin that the federal government currently sees no reason for sanctions against Israel or Israeli ministers. He believes that Germany’s voice is heard in Israel.
Amnesty International, however, is demanding concrete consequences from the increasing violence in the West Bank. The human rights organization criticizes that the federal government has taken no action despite repeated attacks by Israeli settlers and military forces on Palestinians.
