Negotiations in the wage dispute of public transport in Lower Saxony have once again ended without results. According to Ndr, the fourth round of negotiations took place on Monday, but no agreement was reached. The ver.di union announced plans to significantly increase pressure before the next round of negotiations on June 1 and is considering appropriate responses.

Ver.di is demanding, among other things, reductions in weekly working hours and additional vacation days. The Municipal Employers' Association (KAV) has been accused by the union of adopting a blocking stance. Michael Bosse-Arbogast, managing director of KAV Niedersachsen, stated that the financial resources for a reduction in working hours are not available in the ten companies that apply the collective agreement TV-N.

In April, the union had already called for warning strikes in several cities for two days, which led to significant disruptions in bus and tram services in Hanover, Braunschweig, Osnabrück, and Göttingen. The Hanover Fair was also affected by the strikes. Ver.di expressed satisfaction with the previous actions and is planning further steps.

On Wednesday, the third round of wage negotiations for the public service of the federal states begins, which could potentially bring new momentum to the stalled negotiations.
