Kickoff in Toronto is at 10 pm. ZDF starts its pre-match coverage at 9 pm, directly following the Sweden vs. Netherlands match. The moderator team around Jochen Breyer, Christoph Kramer, Per Mertesacker, Christian Streich, and Friederike Kromp will analyze the chances of the German team. MagentaTV also broadcasts the game, with Johannes B. Kerner, Thomas Müller, and Jürgen Klopp getting viewers in the mood from 9 pm.

Ivory Coast won their first group match against Ecuador 1-0, with the winning goal scored by Manchester United’s Amad Diallo in the 90th minute. Coach Emerse Faé announced before the match: “We will play to win. We will try to break down the German wall.” The Ivorians are considered defensively strong and have two Bundesliga wingers in Bazoumana Touré (Hoffenheim) and Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig).

Germany is the slight favorite on paper, but the encounter promises to be much more challenging than the 7-1 opening win against Curaçao. The two nations have only met once before: in a friendly in 2009 on Schalke, Lukas Podolski saved a draw with his second goal in the 90th minute.
