In the night of May 24, Russian forces launched a massive combined attack on Kyiv, Ukraine. According to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, at least two people were killed, including an elderly woman in the Shevchenko district. The number of injured rose to 44 by morning, Klitschko said.
28 injured were hospitalized, including two children in moderate condition. Three more people are in critical condition. Rescue workers are still on site, and the death toll could rise. The city saw significant destruction and fires.
The attack hit all districts of the city. Ukrainian police confirmed the death of the elderly woman. Russia reportedly used Kinzhal hypersonic missiles in the attack, according to Ukrainian military sources.
