Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, stated on Ukrainian television that neither military equipment nor personnel are being deployed near the border. He also noted no increase in Belarusian or Russian troops. The number of Belarusian units at the border has not increased or decreased since 2022, with only regular rotations taking place.

At the same time, Demchenko pointed to ongoing Russian pressure on Belarus to participate more actively in the war of aggression against Ukraine. This carries the risk of a renewed incursion by Belarusian or Russian forces from Belarusian territory. Currently, only a few Russian units are in Belarus, primarily logistics and supply units. No infantry units capable of an immediate attack have been registered.

However, Russia could at any time use the infrastructure developed by Belarus near the border to deploy additional forces. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already ordered a response plan in case of Belarusian involvement.
