Former US Attorney General Pam Bondi testified before the House Oversight and Reform Committee on Friday, acknowledging that redaction errors occurred in the release of the Epstein files. She stressed, however, that the Department of Justice (DoJ) had shown an unprecedented level of transparency under her leadership, as reported by Guardian.

Bondi said she did not personally oversee every aspect of the document review but delegated oversight to her then-deputy Todd Blanche, who is now acting Attorney General. “The team of professionals who reviewed all the material assured me that the only withheld documents were either irrelevant, confidential, or duplicates,” Bondi said in her prepared statement.

Democratic lawmakers accused Bondi of evading questions about former Donald Trump’s role in the release of the files. Bondi defended the department’s work, citing the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which mandates the release of the documents. “To the best of my knowledge, the department has released everything required by law,” Bondi said.

The hearing is part of the committee’s ongoing investigation into the Epstein scandal. Bondi was fired by Trump in May 2026 after she refused to sign a controversial order to release additional Epstein documents. EuroPulse reported on May 27, 2026, about the Bondi massacre, in which police with pistols were outmatched by assault rifles (https://europulse.today/bondi-massaker-polizei-pistolen-sturmgewehre/).
