The Russian occupation administration in Crimea imposed strict fuel rationing starting Saturday, May 30. According to the Kyiv Post, the sale of A-95 gasoline is capped at 20 liters per person per day. The measure took effect at 9:00 a.m. local time.

Sergei Aksyonov, the Russian-installed head of the occupation administration, announced the decree. It mirrors a similar restriction previously enforced in the occupied city of Sevastopol. On Telegram, Aksyonov urged residents not to stockpile fuel and to continue refueling “as usual.”

The rationing is a response to an acute fuel crisis in the occupied territories. Observers say the shortage is a direct result of the collapse of Russian supply routes from the mainland. In Sevastopol, long queues had already formed at gas stations, and public transport operators warned of a shift to a strict, state-controlled coupon system for diesel.
