Deutschlandfunk reports that the IAEA voiced its concern after a possible drone attack on the Zaporizhzhia plant in southeastern Ukraine. The facility is currently occupied by Russian forces. A building at the plant is said to have been hit.
The exact circumstances of the incident remain unclear. The IAEA called for restraint to avoid jeopardizing nuclear safety. The Zaporizhzhia plant, Europe’s largest nuclear power station, has been under Russian control since March 2022.
