According to Zeit, citing the Federal Statistical Office, a total of 332,500 people were naturalized in Germany in 2025. This is a new record. Most of them previously held Syrian citizenship.
The number of naturalizations continues to rise. Compared to previous years, the trend has accelerated. The statistics do not specify the exact reasons for the increase.
