Russian units are attempting to encircle the city of Lyman in northern Ukraine, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in its frontline report. At the same time, the attackers are expanding their offensive to other cities. Ukrainian defenders continue to resist, the ISW says.
The supply situation for the Russian army is worsening. According to the ISW, the occupiers are no longer able to continue their offensive operations. One reason for this is the long-term sanctions that are effectively hitting Russia’s war economy.
