According to a poll by the Polish institute IBRiS, as reported by the Kyiv Post, Poles are pessimistic about a swift end to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. More than 76 percent of respondents expect the fighting to continue beyond 2026. Only about 17 percent believe the war could end next year.
Skepticism cuts across all political camps but is particularly pronounced among supporters of Poland’s governing coalition. The survey, commissioned by the newspaper Rzeczpospolita, reflects the ongoing uncertainty among Poles about the war’s prospects.
