The number of consultations at the ‘Violence against Women’ helpline reached a new all-time high in 2025. According to Die Zeit, more than 69,500 people contacted the free and anonymous hotline – more than ever since the service was established.
Most calls involved domestic violence or violence by ex-partners. The helpline is available around the clock at 08000 116 016 and offers counseling in several languages. The rising demand highlights the growing need for low-threshold support services for women affected by violence in Germany.
