According to 24tv, three-time absolute world champion Oleksandr Usyk spoke at the “America’s Adversaries: The Russia Reality” summit in the United States. He stated that the aggressor Russia is driven by envy. “I don’t understand why Russia is so huge and does such brazen things. It seems to me it’s simply envy,” Usyk said.
Usyk dismissed Kremlin propaganda and recalled that Ukrainian princes and tsars once built Moscow. “Now we see that children are sometimes disobedient,” the boxer said. He emphasized that Russia has been trying for years to destroy the Ukrainian language and history — and now also the people. Ukraine has the right to live as it wishes, without outside instructions.
Usyk, who does not see himself as a politician, wishes for his country to develop toward rule of law and freedom, as he observes in the United States. “I help people, I’m building a business there, I want to live there — but without rockets, with functioning police and courts, like in the USA,” he said.
