Ukrainian forces attacked an oil refinery in the Moscow district of Kapotnya on June 16. According to the BBC, citing official Ukrainian sources and eyewitness videos, a large fire has broken out. Dense smoke clouds hang over the southwestern part of the Russian capital.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin initially did not confirm the attack but later acknowledged that a total of 60 drones had approached the city. Ukrainian monitoring channels and residents published dozens of videos and photos showing a towering flame and black smoke over the industrial area.
Ukraine has repeatedly attacked Russian oil refineries in recent months. The strikes have noticeably worsened fuel supplies in Russia and driven up prices at gas stations.
