According to Ukrainian media, the accused is the director of a construction company that was commissioned by the municipality to modernize the sewage treatment plants in the town of Valky. The company received over 14.5 million hryvnias for this and purchased high-quality equipment such as biodiscs, pumps, dosing stations, and screw screens.
At the beginning of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, the deputy organized the ‘evacuation’ of the equipment to western regions under the pretext of imminent shelling. Officially, a storage contract was signed, but the equipment was taken to the property of a relative of the politician in the Bohodukhiv district.
When the municipal operating company demanded the return of the equipment in 2024, the deputy claimed that the equipment had been ‘destroyed as a result of Russia’s armed aggression.’ The investigators accuse him of embezzlement and misappropriation on a particularly large scale.
