In his podcast “Can’t be Censored,” Carlson announced he would “under no circumstances” support the Republicans in the November midterms. “I’m out,” he said. The war against Iran was the trigger: Carlson sees it as proof that the party has strayed from its course.
“They make decisions based on other criteria: what’s best for this company, what’s best for Israel, what’s best for our donors,” Carlson said in the episode aired Monday. “They are on the wrong track – that is unacceptable, that is treacherous, that is immoral, it cannot continue like this.”
Carlson, long one of the most influential figures of the MAGA movement, hopes many will follow him. His departure from the Grand Old Party (GOP) marks a shift in US domestic and foreign policy, particularly regarding Israel. The growing criticism of Israel in the US is partly driven by legitimate critique and partly by anti-Semitic voices – Carlson skillfully uses this development for his agenda.
