The 23rd FIFA World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada has been running since June 11, 2026. For the first time, 48 nations are participating, and the new world champion will be crowned on July 19 after 104 matches. This evening and tonight, six games will decide who advances to the knockout round.

In Group C, Brazil meets Scotland in Miami. After a mediocre 1-1 draw against Morocco and a convincing 3-0 win over Haiti, the Seleção aims to top the group. The striking duo of Vinícius Júnior and Matheus Cunha impressed recently. Scotland needs at least a point to keep its chances of advancing alive. Coach Steve Clarke faces a tough task against the record world champions.

In Group A, Mexico has already secured top spot after two wins. The Czech Republic, however, must beat the co-host to have any chance of reaching the next round. After a disappointing 1-1 draw against South Africa, the team is under pressure. At the same time, South Africa faces South Korea, which can secure second place with a win. Son Heung-min, who plays in the USA, is still waiting for his first goal in his fourth World Cup appearance.

The matches are broadcast on MagentaTV as well as ARD and ZDF. Switzerland takes on Canada, Bosnia-Herzegovina plays Qatar, and Morocco – one of the dark horses after winning the Africa Cup of Nations – faces Haiti.
