Ukraine’s armed forces should continue their attacks on Russian oil and gas infrastructure, military expert Roman Svitan urged. Fuel shortages have now hit many regions – even in Omsk, home to Russia’s largest refinery, restrictions on fuel sales are in place.

Production Collapses, Imports Planned

According to Svitan, the situation in Russia’s oil and gas industry is dire. He noted that a curious scenario could emerge where China, which buys cheap Russian crude, processes it into gasoline and sells it back to Russia. Ukraine’s forces should keep striking Russian refineries, oil terminals, and transport hubs, as the Russians would otherwise rebuild them. Without fuel, the economy will grind to a halt.
