The lead investigator of the Hamburg police has deemed the statements of Christina Block’s children as credible. “What the children told us seemed credible,” the witness said before the Hamburg Regional Court. Officers had questioned the siblings after their abduction on New Year’s Eve 2023/24.
Defense attorney David Rieks asked the criminal investigator whether she was aware that the children might have been in a “loyalty conflict.” The 44-year-old responded that this is always the case with child witnesses. However, she did not ask the children whether they had been influenced by their father after returning to Denmark—that would have put them “under enormous pressure.”
Christina Block, daughter of Block founder Eugen Block, is accused of hiring an Israeli security firm to kidnap her two youngest children from Denmark after an escalated custody dispute. She denies the allegations. The children were dragged into a car on New Year’s Eve and taken to southern Germany and Hamburg.
