57 Russian attacks: General Staff reports heavy fighting in Ukraine

Since morning, Russia has been attacking Ukraine along numerous front sections – the General Staff counts 57 attacks.

Russian forces continue shelling the northern border regions of Sumy and Chernihiv. Among the affected settlements are Korenjok, Sopych and Tovstodubove in Sumy region, as well as Mykolaivske and Yanshulivka in Chernihiv. Hlukhiv and Lyshky came under aerial attack.

In the areas of Pivnichnoslobozhanske and Kursk, four clashes occurred between Ukrainian and Russian units. There, the Russian army conducted 31 artillery strikes on Ukrainian positions and villages, one of them using multiple rocket launchers. Near Pivdennoslobozhanske, the enemy made three breakthrough attempts toward Karayichne and Khatnye; one battle is ongoing.

In the Kupiansk sector, the Russians attacked twice near Novoplatonivka. Near Lyman, Ukrainian defenders repelled six attacks around Novoselivka, Zarichne and Ozerne. In the Sloviansk area, troops stopped ten enemy assaults near Sakitne, Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kryva Luka. At Kostiantynivka, they beat back eight attacks near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka and Ivanopillia; one engagement is still underway.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian attackers tried eleven times to dislodge Ukrainian units near Nove Shakhove, Novooleksandrivka and Udachne. Near Oleksandrivka, there was a thrust toward Andriivka-Klevtsove. In the Huliaipole area, Ukrainians repelled twelve storm assaults near Zaliznychne and Charivne. Near Orikhiv, Russian troops stormed twice against positions near Lukianivske.
