The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) confirmed that it had reviewed an online threat against the arena in Houston. Brazil and Japan played their first knockout-round match of the World Cup there. According to the FBI, at the time of the review there was no evidence of the threat’s credibility.
The FBI said it is working with local, state, and national security agencies to identify the source of the threat. The agency stated that it is continuously analyzing and assessing the situation. The public was urged to remain vigilant and to immediately report any suspicious incidents or individuals to law enforcement.
