The cameras are attached to work uniforms and are voluntary. They will be used by train attendants, on-board catering staff, and in DB Lounges. The goal is to secure evidence and deter potential perpetrators.
The measure is part of an action plan for greater safety on the rails. This also includes hiring 200 additional security personnel and further developing an emergency call button that allows employees to discreetly alert the control center.
In the trial following the fatal beating attack on railway employee Serkan Ç., the defendant asked the victim’s family for forgiveness a week ago. The verdict could be announced on July 9.
