The Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia came under renewed Russian air attack on Friday. Guided bombs hit an industrial site, killing at least two men and wounding seven others, including an 11-year-old child, the Kyiv Post reports, citing local authorities.
In a separate daytime attack on a busy street, two women were injured. The toll is preliminary as rescue and recovery operations continue, and authorities say the number of casualties could rise. The extent of damage is being assessed.
The attack is part of ongoing Russian bombardments on the southern Ukrainian metropolis, which repeatedly hit civilian and industrial infrastructure. Zaporizhzhia lies near the front line and is a regular target of Russian airstrikes.
